What to know before booking.
This page is general information only. It does not replace advice from your GP, specialist, fertility team, midwife, mental health practitioner or emergency care.
Where acupuncture may fit
Acupuncture appointments can provide time to discuss your current stage of fertility care, stress, sleep, digestion, cycle history and any advice from your fertility specialist. It should not replace medical fertility care or be described as a guaranteed way to change outcomes.
- Bring relevant cycle dates, medications and fertility clinic instructions.
- Tell your practitioner where you are in the IVF or fertility process.
- Ask how appointment timing may be planned around your existing care.
What will be discussed
The consultation may include Chinese medicine assessment, your health history, current medical care, stress load, sleep and previous treatment experiences. Any acupuncture, moxa, herbs or supplements are discussed before use and adapted to what is suitable.
When to seek medical advice first
If you have new pelvic pain, abnormal bleeding, suspected pregnancy complications, medication concerns or urgent symptoms, contact your GP, fertility specialist or emergency care before booking acupuncture.
